Our Nose

Danielle Fleming is the founder, creative mind and olfactive "nose" behind Noteology and the patented* Custom Perfume Studio experience. Self-taught and formally trained, Danielle has been studying the relationship between mind and scent and crafting scented products for over a decade.

She learned her craft by studying the highly regarded method of olfactive training and creation by Jean Carles, a French perfumer and founder of the Roure Perfumery School (now owned by Givaudan).  His method is considered to be the premiere training of modern perfumery around the globe.  Her studies have brought her to the hills of Tuscany to study Herbal Techniques from the il Laboratorio dell’ Erborista and she holds certification in The Technique and Language of Perfumery from Cinquieme Sens, a Parisian perfumery training school for fragrance professionals. Danielle is also a graduate of the Fragrance Academy from the Fragrance Foundation in New York City.

Danielle honed her craft at Firmenich, the world's largest privately held fragrance house, at it's US headquarters in Princeton, NJ.  As a Senior Consumer Insights Analyst, Danielle managed consumer insight and research projects for Fortune 50 global clients as well as internal proactive fragrance development initiatives. In this role, she decoded consumer language through qualitative and quantitative methodologies and translate these learnings into actionable next steps for fragrance development, concept integration, brand positioning and product launches.

Her experience, passion and dedication to scent and brand development has made her into an awarding winning leader in the global beauty industry where she has been the recipient of many awards including, “Top 20 to Know in the Beauty Industry” by GCI Magazine, Women Entrepreneur of the Year by the Small Business Development Center, Young Entrepreneur of the Year by Bank of America, Top 20 Under 40 Business Leaders in Northeast Pennsylvania, Best New Organic Product and Best in Show at the New York International Gift Show, and the United States Senate Award for Entrepreneurship.
